Where Fuzzy Writing Gets Clear

Are Your Written Materials Clear?

Now, it's easy to make sure they are.

It's also important. Why?

Clarity Matters

Fuzzy writing can drive prospects and clients away. No one enjoys wading through vague, disorganized, or redundant writing.

What's more, confusing instructions and training materials can cause mistakes that waste valuable time--sometimes with disastrous and costly results.

From Fuzzy to Clear

I help my clients make fuzzy messages clear. Over the past 30 years, I have clarified:

  • web content
  • articles, proposals, reports
  • books, guides, manuals
  • letters, flyers

My clients are visionaries, green businesses. Their areas of expertise include alternative energy, permaculture, spirituality, alternative healing, conservation, recycling. Supporting them with my writing talents is a pleasure.

An Invitation

If you worry that your written materials aren't clear, let's talk. My phone number is 707 823-1596.

My half-hour introductory consultation is free. After that, the rate is $40 per hour, and I accept credit cards.

Editing Basics

Start by following three rules for writing: Use Short Words, Keep It Simple, and Be Clear. For details, see Tips.

Then ask key questions of each document:

  • Is it accurate?
  • Is it complete?
  • Is it too complex—or, too basic?
  • Is information easy to find?
  • Does it need an index, illustrations, tables?

Check for these musts, too:

  • Each paragraph sticks to one point.
  • There's no unnecessary repetition.
  • There are no run-on sentences.
